Alessandra Rovati is an Italian food writer and lecturer. She was born and raised in Venice, and now lives in New York City with her husband and children. Her articles and recipes have appeared in many newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Forward, Hadassah, Joy of Kosher, The Jewish Week, and a variety of international publications from Russia, to Italy to Australia. Alessandra has been a featured guest on a variety of television and radio programs and has spoken at universities and cultural institutes. Her lectures and classes have been widely attended in New York City and beyond.
Alessandra also posts recipes and offers a unique cultural view of Italian and Italian-Jewish culinary history on her website, DinnerinVenice.com. Her Facebook page has reached over 10,000 fans since it was established in April 2011. These recipes include kosher ingredients, but many tips and substitutions are included for chefs who follow other dietary restrictions. Alessandra has brought the food, culture and history of Italy in general, and Jewish Italy in particular, to homes throughout the world.
